Our philosophy on youth development has a few key parts:
1. Build a base of fundamentals and skills (block practice).
2. Progress from block practice to games based on those skills (advantage/disadvantage, competition drills, and decision making).
3. We want generalists and not specialists (play kids at every position so we create well rounded basketball players).
4. Age appropriate focus (smaller basketballs and lower hoops for younger kids; not extending their range until they are physically ready).
5. Make it fun (lots of 3 on 3 so they all get to touch the ball; youth development is about getting better at the game and enjoying the game - that is more important than wins and losses).
